The day I needed the Swiss on a shoot.
Today I turn 35 and I figured that's a good age to start doing vlogs. I've been wanting to do this since forever, but I always had an excuse not to do it. Bad hair days, some anxiety, whatever.. That stops right now and this is the 1st in many (if it's up to me).
Why the Swiss?
The title might sound mysterious, but it refers to a very specific moment during a photo shoot where I needed some unexpected help. As photographers, we plan everything — lighting, composition, wardrobe — but sometimes reality has different plans. On this particular day, things didn't go exactly as expected and I had to improvise on the spot. That's when my Swiss army knife came in handy (literally).
Lessons from behind the camera
One of the biggest lessons I've learned as a photographer is that you can never be too prepared. Always carry backup gear, always have a plan B, and always stay calm when things go sideways. Your client looks to you for confidence, and how you handle unexpected situations defines the experience just as much as the final photos do.
