How many times a week do you see this message come in?
Seriously, it’s annoying. It doesn’t help anyone. It’s redundant.
Isn’t it obvious when you hit that ‘Connect’ button on LinkedIn that you WANT to connect to this individual? I’d say so.
On the other hand, this is an amazing opportunity for you to create an instant rapport. Separate yourself from the masses. Make a good impression from the get-go.

Oh and I had a little conversation the other day with Thomas, who used to be a recruiter getting thousands of these messages and I asked him how he looked at them. He’s currently helping people looking for a job to record video job applications.

Personally, I get between 30 and 50 LinkedIn connection requests a week. Which is awesome, but I do see a fair share of those 11 most boring words in the English language.
