Packing my gear for videography and photography in New York City

Traveling to New York always gets me wondering what gear to bring for what I need to do while I’m there. I always make a ton of plans to shoot a ton of things, but at the end of the day only half of that actually happens. Do you recognize that? Making plans for shooting and then life happens, the schedule gets packed with other things which are awesome and it just doesn’t happen?

This time I’m trying to pack light, do you think I succeeded? Here’s the video of me packing my gear and talk you through my process.

I’m packing my gear to travel to New York City to shoot some cool videography and photography. I explain what I pack and the importance of labeling your gear while you take stuff out of your trusty studio. All the gear I mention in this video can be found on my Kit page:

I’m taking my Canon 5D Mark 4 with my Canon 24-70 F2.8 IS USM II lens teamed with the Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS USM II lens. For lighting on the road I use a LumeCube and a Profoto A1 flash. Audio is handled by the Rode VideoMic Pro+.

I set up my camera on a Feisol CM-1473 Monopod / Tripod combo, which works awesome and is very lightweight.

Mobile video is gonna be shot with the iPhoneX and the DJI Osmo Mobile 2, the PolarPro filter kit, and a Rode VideoMic.
